Film Editor
Editing with Peter Jackson on West of Memphis
I have been a documentary film editor for 15 years, with experience across non-profits, commercial, independent films, and feature-length documentaries. IMDB
While originally from Washington, I started my career in New York, enrolling in a 6-week film editing course that I found in a magazine ad. After surviving four unpaid internships and sleeping in my friend’s rat-infested NY kitchen, I landed my first editing gig on a narrative film. Then, when Los Angeles beckoned, I transitioned to documentary editing, working on films that premiered at festivals, including Sundance, SXSW, and Tribeca.
My work focused on challenging injustices (e.g., wrongful convictions) and promoting awareness (e.g., wildlife conservation). After a successful battle with cancer that temporarily paused my career, I returned to the PNW, where I am a freelancer today.
Now, I balance editing short-form content for studios and my own passion projects. My passion projects involve crafting verite documentaries that uplift marginalized voices within the BIPOC community, promote awareness, spark conversation, and inspire action.
